PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Dallas Cowboys finally leaned on the run game, and it flattened the Philadelphia Eagles. Javonte Williams carried 25 times for a career-high 155 yards, and Dallas pulled away in the second half for a 38-21 win Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Dallas came in ranked last in the league in carries per game. Against the Eagles it ran 38 times for 204 yards, scored on seven of nine possessions and piled up a season-high 416 total yards.
Dak Prescott bounced back from two shaky games, going 15 of 27 through the air for 212 yards, three scores and no picks. Two of the scores went to CeeDee Lamb, who caught five passes for 74 yards, and the other went to George Pickens from 21 yards out. With the win, Prescott moved past Tony Romo for the most games in team history with multiple touchdown passes, 80.
The lead changed hands several times. Saquon Barkley, back from a hamstring injury, scored early for Philadelphia, and two Dallas defensive penalties helped the Eagles go ahead in the second quarter. The Cowboys led 20-14 at the half, but Tanner McKee found Makai Lemon for a 4-yard score to put Philadelphia back on top in the third.
Prescott answered with a 16-yard touchdown throw to Lamb, then kept the ball himself on the conversion to make it 28-21. Brandon Aubrey, who opened the scoring with a 55-yard field goal, added another kick, and Williams finished it with a 2-yard run. DeMarvion Overshown sealed it with a fourth-quarter interception of McKee.
Dallas is now 3-4. Philadelphia, at 2-5, has dropped five games in a row.
