Uptown Dallas, Inc. has announced the establishment of a new safety headquarters located at 2222 McKinney Ave., set to open on July 1, 2025. The facility aims to enhance safety and security in the Uptown district, featuring live dispatchers and a dedicated security team. Community collaboration is emphasized, with Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux and interim UDI executive director Noelle LeVeaux highlighting the significance of partnerships in improving local safety. The initiative is expected to deter crime and enhance response times for emergency services.
Dallas – Uptown Dallas, Inc. (UDI) has announced the opening of a new safety headquarters, set to officially commence operations on July 1, 2025. Located at 2222 McKinney Ave., directly across from Hotel Crescent Court, the facility aims to bolster safety and security measures within the Uptown district.
The Uptown Safety HQ will serve as a centralized operations hub dedicated to managing safety and security. In attendance at the announcement were Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux, interim UDI executive director Noelle LeVeaux, and various dignitaries, all emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in enhancing security.
The new headquarters is designed to improve visibility and coordination for public safety efforts. With live dispatchers and a dedicated security team stationed at the facility, quicker responses to incidents are anticipated. The headquarters will also include monitors that display live video feeds from around the Uptown area, further enhancing situational awareness and response capabilities.
Dallas Police officers will have the opportunity to utilize the HQ for meetings and reporting, thereby fostering greater communication and collaboration between law enforcement and community safety initiatives. This physical presence aims to deter crime and significantly improve response times within the busy district, which sees around 100,000 people passing through on weekdays.
As part of its ongoing commitment to public safety, UDI has been funding additional patrols during peak times of criminal activity in Uptown. Recent reports from the Dallas Police Department indicate an 8% decrease in response times for Priority One calls and a 3% decrease for Priority Two calls in the area, suggesting that these efforts are beginning to have a positive impact.
The establishment of the Safety HQ reflects UDI’s long-standing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for both residents and workers in the district. Since becoming a public improvement district in 1993, UDI has reported over $5 billion in investments flowing into Uptown, with this headquarters representing a significant extension of that investment in community well-being.
In an effort to further assess and improve safety perceptions within the community, UDI plans to conduct a survey targeting local residents and businesses. This initiative will help gauge public sentiment and identify areas that may require additional resources or attention.
Chief Comeaux highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaborative efforts among community members as key factors in fostering a safer environment.
