Dallas, Texas – From June 2 to June 8, 2025, Southern Baptists engaged in a comprehensive evangelistic outreach initiative known as Crossover 2025, in the lead-up to the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting. The event was designed to connect church members with local communities through various outreach activities and service initiatives, with the participation of over 80 churches.
Key activities during Crossover included block parties, door-to-door evangelism, and prayer lines, all aimed at inspiring community interactions. Participants reported success in their efforts, with many individuals committing their lives to Christianity as a result of the outreach. A notable moment occurred when a member of First Baptist Church prayed over a couple who responded positively to a Gospel invitation during a block party.

This year’s outreach was a collaborative effort involving the North American Mission Board (NAMB), the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC), the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), and numerous local churches. The executive director of the Dallas Baptist Association emphasized the vital role of church partnerships in extending the Gospel message across the metroplex.
Some congregations used Crossover as an opportunity to revitalize their outreach strategies. The pastor of Trinity Love Church committed to an inclusive approach, ensuring that efforts reached individuals from all races and genders, highlighting a dedication to diverse community engagement.
Another significant initiative was spearheaded by Iglesia Nueva Esperanza in Irving, which hosted a drive-through prayer station, allowing community residents to receive prayer and support from church members. The event also included a student rally organized by the NAMB’s next-gen director, which attracted 635 students, resulting in 57 professions of faith. The rally featured a variety of speakers and included worship led by the collegiate worship team from Dallas Baptist University, enhancing youth engagement with the Gospel.
In addition to these significant church events, Crossover featured various activities designed to connect with the broader community. Examples included car washes, block parties, and feeding initiatives for the homeless, all contributing to a spirit of service and interaction among the participants.
An estimated 18,000 to 20,000 attendees are expected at the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting from June 8 to June 11, taking place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. This large gathering underscores the commitment to fostering community engagement and spiritual outreach among Southern Baptists.
