In a tragic turn of events, the body of Olivia Leann Rodriguez, a 30-year-old woman, was found on June 2, 2025, in an apartment on Forest Lane, Dallas. Her disappearance had raised grave concerns among her family, leading them to report her missing shortly before the discovery of her remains.
Rodriguez’s mother, Judy Garza, last communicated with her daughter on May 24. The family became alarmed when Olivia failed to reach out for her birthday on May 27, prompting them to notify the Dallas police of her absence.
While reporting her missing, family members indicated that her cellphone was traced to an apartment belonging to 34-year-old Teray Montrell Sam, whom Rodriguez had been living with for over a month. Following Garza’s persistent concerns regarding Olivia’s safety, police were requested to conduct a wellness check at Sam’s residence.
Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered Rodriguez’s body in what was described as an “advanced state of decomposition”, lying on the living room floor and covered with blankets and miscellaneous items. The arrest affidavit revealed that she had suffered multiple stab wounds and had been deceased for several days before her body was found.
Sam was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with murder. During the investigation, he was noted to have an apparent knife wound on his hand, and authorities found blood at the scene, specifically in the sink and shower of the apartment. The circumstances surrounding Rodriguez’s death are currently under investigation as detectives seek further information from the public.
Judy Garza has voiced her frustration with the police regarding their response to her daughter’s disappearance, asserting that the law enforcement’s delay in acting on her concerns contributed to the grim outcome. The family was ultimately able to pinpoint the address where her body was found based on a package that Olivia had left behind, indicating a tragic continuity of her last days.
Teray Sam now faces serious charges and is being held in the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $1 million. In light of her daughter’s death, Judy Garza is advocating for justice and has expressed a strong desire for a severe punishment for Sam, emphasizing the pain he has inflicted on their family.
