A graduate of Bishop Dunne Catholic School in 2020, Ethan was active in various clubs, including the Archery Club, drama performances, and Campus Ministry. Ethan attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, from 2020 to 2023. While there, he became an active member of The Latin Mass Society, serving as treasurer and helping to raise funds for the Latin Mass on campus. Known for his interest in sustainability and renewable energy, Ethan dreamed of building a self-sustaining house and drove an electric vehicle.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Gene and Rhonda Heatly, and his sister, Kyra Heatly, and her husband. He leaves behind loving grandparents, including Gene and Judy Heatly of Vernon, TX, Ann Gilliam (and the late Bob Gilliam) of Kingwood, TX, and Jeanie Barton (and the late Tommy Barton) of Kingwood, TX, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is remembered fondly for his profound love of family, friends, and pets, including dogs Parker, Sushi, and Penny, who were brought into his life through the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation.
Funeral Arrangements
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM with Visitation from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas, TX, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Old Home Cemetery in Joaquin, TX. Memorials in Ethan’s honor can be made to the March for Life or the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation.
