As of now, conditions are beginning to calm across the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex following the storms. However, a flood watch remains in effect for several counties including Anderson, Bosque, Ellis, Freestone, Henderson, Hill, Johnson, Navarro, and Red River until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities have warned that the strongest storms may still produce marginal hail and wind risks primarily south of Interstate 20.
Temperatures across the region are currently in the 70s, with the highest chances of rain continuing to be forecasted south of I-20. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued until 5 a.m. Monday for nearly all of North Texas, including populous areas like Dallas and Tarrant Counties. Thunderstorms were forecasted to move into the region around 3 a.m., with the highest coverage of rain expected during the morning hours.
Localized areas may experience flash flooding due to the anticipated heavy rainfall. Forecasts suggest widespread totals of 1 to 3 inches, with a 20% chance that some localized areas could receive as much as 4 to 6 inches of rain.
