The incident took place at Market Center Blvd. and Harry Hines Blvd., raising serious concerns about safety measures at the crossing. Two people were killed in a tragic accident involving a Trinity Railway Express train and an SUV in Dallas on Wednesday, July 9, just after 9:25 a.m. The collision took place at the intersection of Market Center Blvd. and Harry Hines Blvd., raising concerns about safety measures at the crossing.
The train struck the driver’s side of the SUV, sending the vehicle approximately 150 yards down the track. Emergency responders arrived at the scene but unfortunately pronounced both occupants of the SUV dead on-site. Observers described the vehicle as “unrecognizable,” with debris scattered across the area, including parts of the SUV such as its bumper.
DART Police are currently leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. As of now, they have not released specific details concerning the number of occupants inside the SUV or the nature of their injuries. It remains unclear whether there were additional individuals involved in the incident.
As a result of the collision, operations on the Trinity Railway Express have been affected. Passengers were notified to anticipate delays and were instructed to make adjustments to their travel plans, including utilizing shuttle bus services between Medical Market and Victory stations.
