Curry Pizza with Indian flavors in a restaurant setting

News Summary

Curry Pizza House, a national pizza chain combining Indian flavors with traditional pizzas, has opened locations in Frisco, Little Elm, and Plano, with more on the way in Irving and Celina. The franchise, founded in California, offers unique menu items like chicken tikka pizza and palak paneer pizza. Meanwhile, Cris and John Vietnamese Street Food is also relocating in Dallas due to increased demand. Both restaurants are reflecting a growing trend towards culinary fusion in the Dallas dining scene.

Dallas, Texas – Curry Pizza House, a national chain that merges traditional pizza with Indian flavors, has recently extended its presence into the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the opening of three locations in Frisco, Little Elm, and Plano. Two more outlets are in the pipeline, set to launch in Irving and Celina.

Founded in Fremont, California, in 2013 by Gursewak Gill and Romy Gill, Curry Pizza House began franchising in 2019 and focuses on integrating authentic Indian flavors into freshly made pizza dough. The chain’s menu includes distinctive items such as chicken tikka pizza, butter chicken pizza, and palak paneer pizza, alongside traditional pizza offerings like pepperoni. Some locations even serve wings seasoned with Indian spices, salads, and snack items like baked masala chips. Additionally, certain restaurants offer beer and wine, and menu items may vary depending on the franchisee.

The Plano franchise, managed by Richard Paul, a seasoned veteran of the pizza industry, has already received positive reviews online from customers. Curry Pizza House is riding a growing trend in the culinary landscape, as Indian-style pizza continues to gain popularity, specifically in California. Other similar restaurant concepts have emerged over the years, including Dallas’ locally grown Far East Pizza, which opened in 2020, along with Fun Pizza Kitchen, which operates two locations in Frisco and The Colony.

As Curry Pizza House expands, another restaurant, Cris and John Vietnamese Street Food, is also making headlines in the area. The eatery, known for its intriguing combination of Vietnamese and Mexican cuisines, is relocating from 5555 Preston Oaks Rd to a larger space at 6090 Campbell Rd in Dallas. This move is driven by increasing customer demand and aligns with a long-term strategy that was initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cris and John Vietnamese Street Food has garnered attention for its innovative dishes, such as pho-rrito and ramenrrito, and has been invited to participate in promotions, including one for Nickelodeon. The new location will provide additional parking and a larger dining area, accommodating over 100 guests. Many customers have expressed enthusiasm on social media about the upcoming change, particularly lauding the benefits of improved parking and an enhanced dining experience.

The decision to remain in the same neighborhood aligns with the brand identity of Cris and John. The relocation demonstrates the increasing demand for unique and fusion dining experiences within the Dallas culinary scene. The simultaneous expansion of Curry Pizza House and Cris and John implies a significant trend toward culinary fusion, reflecting a diverse and evolving food culture in the region.

As these establishments thrive, it highlights an appetite for innovative flavors and diverse dining options among locals, signaling a promising future for both restaurants in the competitive food market of Dallas.
