News Summary

Dallas-based short film ‘The Foursome’ wraps production, presenting a thought-provoking narrative about infidelity through the perspectives of four friends. Directed by KC Bailey, the film features a minimalist set and local talent, and is set to premiere on July 28 at the Texas Theatre. The film delves into themes of betrayal, loyalty, and emotional complexity, providing audiences with an engaging discussion about these realities in friendships.

Dallas, Texas – A new short film titled “The Foursome,” created by an all-Dallas cast and crew, recently wrapped up production in a rapid 12-hour session at Denton Community TV. The film, directed by local screenwriter KC Bailey, explores the moral complexities surrounding infidelity through the varied perspectives of four longtime friends.

“The Foursome” presents a thought-provoking narrative centered on a bi-weekly card game involving these four friends. As the story unfolds, three of the friends uncover the shocking truth that one of their own is facing betrayal, as his wife is unfaithful. They decide to gather evidence to confront him about the affair. However, the twist reveals that the fourth friend is already aware of his wife’s unfaithfulness, prompting an insightful dialogue about the nuances of betrayal and infidelity among the group.

The film features a minimalist set, comprising merely a card table, four chairs, and a piano, drawing inspiration from the classic film “12 Angry Men.” This simple yet powerful design allows the audience to focus on the characters and their interactions, heightening the emotional impact of the story.

The cast is comprised of local talent, including actors Paul A. Freeman, Tomer Braff, Chester Gayao, and Manny Brion. Each actor portrays distinct characters who share differing views on infidelity. One delivers a tragic story, another presents a lighthearted account, and the third contributes a more intellectual take, enriching the narrative’s complexity.

Adding depth to the film’s atmosphere, the original score was composed by Kays Al-Atrakchi, setting the tone for the various emotional beats throughout the story. Cinematographer Alex Simon played a vital role in capturing the subtleties of the actors’ performances, enhancing the film’s visual storytelling.

The film’s premiere is scheduled for July 28 at 6 p.m. at the Texas Theatre, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience this intimate portrayal of friendship, loyalty, and betrayal. Tickets for the event are priced at $10, making it accessible to a wide audience eager to explore the themes presented in “The Foursome.”

The film’s trailer is currently available for viewing online, giving potential viewers a glimpse into the gripping narrative and the emotional struggles of its characters. The production of “The Foursome” signifies a growing trend of local filmmakers in Dallas who strive to tell relatable and engaging stories, highlighting the city’s vibrant arts scene.

This short film is not only a creative endeavor but also a reflection of the experiences that many people navigate in their relationships. As “The Foursome” prepares for its debut, it promises to engage audiences in a conversation about the often-complex realities of infidelity and friendship.
