ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys have picked a homegrown country star for their Thanksgiving Day stage in Arlington, Texas. Miranda Lambert will perform at halftime when the Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 26.

The show doubles as the 30th straight Red Kettle Kickoff for The Salvation Army, a tradition the team started at old Texas Stadium in 1997 with Reba McEntire as the first headliner. This year it lines up with the charity’s 136th Red Kettle Campaign, the holiday drive known for its bell ringers outside stores.

Lambert grew up in East Texas, about an hour east of Dallas, and has won three Grammy Awards. In the team’s announcement she said that returning home to Texas for the holiday to help carry on the kickoff is a special honor.

The televised halftime show and the kettle drive have together brought in upward of $3.4 billion to help families who are struggling, the team said. Charlotte Jones, the Cowboys’ chief brand officer and co-owner, came up with the idea of using the nationally broadcast Thanksgiving game to launch the campaign and pitched it to network executives.

Lambert follows a long list of Thanksgiving performers. Recent headliners include Post Malone in 2025, Lainey Wilson in 2024 and Dolly Parton in 2023. Over the years the stage has also hosted Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers.

The Cowboys-Eagles game is the team’s annual home holiday matchup, and fans in the stadium will see the show live during the break between halves.
